How to Join

We try to make the journey to joining Radnor House Prep School as simple and straightforward as possible for you. The steps to joining us are below and the next thing that happens depends on your particular circumstances.

Attend an Open Event or Tour

We believe that making the choice for your childโ€™s education is one of the most important you will undertake. To make things easier for you, we host regular Open Events to allow us to provide you with a taste of our school and what we offer.

If you are seeking an Occasional Place or you canโ€™t attend any of the Open Events, we also host tours for individual families or groups. To arrange a tour, please make an enquiry.

BOOK AN OPEN EVENT

Register your Child

Once you wish to apply for a place in any year group, we first require you to register your child with us. We encourage parents to register their child as soon as possible after birth. We will only accept registrations of children once born. A non-refundable fee of ยฃ150 is required, alongside the completion of the online registration form.

If you are seeking an occasional place, we will be in contact to confirm whether a place is available in your desired year group. If you are seeking a place in Nursery or Reception, your child will be placed on the waiting list until offers are made for their year group.

APPLY FOR A PLACE

Attend a โ€˜Getting To Know Youโ€™ day

Radnor House Prep is non-selective for entry into Nursery and Reception. However, children seeking occasional places in Year 1 and above are invited to attend an informal โ€˜Getting to Know Youโ€™ day as part of the admissions process. Applicants take part in various creative and academic activities, which helps us to understand more about the childโ€™s abilities and how they would benefit from the education on offer.

These are typically held in January and February each year.

Offers

Offers are made by sending a formal offer letter via email, along with the schoolโ€™s Parent Contract. For entry into the academic year 2024/5, the bulk of offers will be made in Spring 2024. However, we will continue to accept applications and make offers following this date. The timing of the admissions process may change in future years.

Nursery & Reception

Offers for places in Nursery and Reception are made in order of registration. For each year of entry, once all spaces have been filled, subsequent applicants are placed on the waiting list. Further offers may be made if a place becomes available.

Priority is given to:

  • siblings;
  • children with a connection to Dukes Education;
  • in order of registration date.

ย Offers for Occasional Places (Year 1 and above)

Offers for Occasional places are based on:

  • A place being available in the desired year group;
  • Attendance and performance at a โ€˜Getting to Know Youโ€™ day
  • Receipt of a recent school report from the childโ€™s current school

Accept An Offer

When you receive your offer, you will also be given instructions on how to accept the offer via our online form. Acceptance of a place must be accompanied by a deposit payment of ยฃ3,000.

Before your first day

Prior to joining us, our Admissions Manager will send you some onboarding forms for you to fill in.

We want to make sure your child is comfortable with the move to their new school. For pupils being admitted to Radnor House in Reception, we will host a number of events leading up to their first day which will include a time to meet their new teacher and their fellow classmates.
